The 2020 Remembrance Week at Syracuse University is another casualty of the COVID pandemic, but this year’s scholars will commemorate the lives of those lost on Pan Am 103 in a variety of ways throughout the year. Today, scholars set up the 35 chairs behind the Wall of Remembrance on campus. Several scholars sat in the chairs corresponding to the seats of each student they represented.
The plan was to continue the commemoration on Friday, but the news today of a flare-up on campus put an end to that plan.
The scholars shared this link from today’s commemoration.
Out of an abundance of caution, I have chosen not to visit the SU campus since the fall semester began, but I hope to make my way to campus this December to commemorate the 32nd anniversary of the tragedy.
