Over 36 years after the tragedy, the bombing of Pan Am 103 has returned to the headlines courtesy of the Sky/Peacock series with Colin Firth (I’ve discussed VPAF 103’s response in an earlier post; the BBC has an interesting discussion about the series, the controversy, and details about the investigation). A second series will debut on the BBC before a global release on Netflix later this year. CNN will air a documentary about the attack next month.
Finally, and most significantly, Abu Agila Masud, the man who allegedly made the bomb, will go on trial later this year. Once again, the BBC has a detailed article discussing the remarkable investigation that ultimately led to Masud’s capture.
A recent BBC podcast discusses the series, impending trial, and the case’s return to prominence.
