Aired shortly before the 20th anniversary of the Pan Am 103 bombing, Terror & Tears is an award-winning documentary produced by Time Warner Cable and narrated by the late Bill Carey. The documentary was originally produced as a 6 part series; a longer version with slightly different material appeared later.
Featuring interviews with family members, recordings, videos, and photographs, Terror & Tears focuses on 6 victims with ties to New York State: Glenn and Paula Bouckley, Karen Lee Hunt, Melina Hudson, Nicole Boulanger, and Theodora Cohen. Glenn and Paula resided in the Syracuse area, Melina lived in Albany, and Karen, Nicole, and Theodora were among the 35 Syracuse University students lost on the flight.
The documentary chronicles the night of the bombing and the immediate reactions of families and friends in “Homecoming.” “The Long Thunder” includes news footage from the bombing and interviews with witnesses in Lockerbie. “Payback” and “Alternate Ending” focus on the trial and the possibility of other agents in the bombing, while “Dark Memories” and “Moving on” center on the reflections of family members and Lockerbie residents 2 decades after the bombing.
Time Warner Cable is currently in the process of revamping the site, and I can’t guarantee that these links will work in the future. However, viewers can now access the 6 parts of the original video, which was formerly available only to Time Warner customers.
“Homecoming” includes portions of the tape Karen Hunt made with her sister, Robyn, on the night before she left for London.
